The "Life of Rielly"  was featured on San Francisco KGO Radio in connection with a new book in the series of Images of America  entitled "Irish San Francisco."

At the back of this book is the following description:

ACROSS AMERICA, PEOPLE ARE DISCOVERING SOMETHING WONDERFUL....

      THEIR HERITAGE.

  • Arcadia Publishing is the leading local history publisher in the United States.  With more that 4,000 titles in print and hundreds of new titles released every year, Arcadia has  extensive specialized experience chronicling the history of communities and celebrating America's hidden stories, bringing life to people, places, and events from the past.
  • In one picture  the Rielly "clan"  shown on  the steps of their parish Church of St. James are:  Thomas Rielly and his wife, May Neary Rielly when they celebrated the golden jubilee of their wedding.  In the front row is daughter Rose Romelfanger with her children, Greg, Diane, Janice, and Patricia.  The second row shows the profile of Bill Rielly,  Sister Patricia of the Mission  San Jose Dominicans, happy parents, Tom and May, and daughter Mary.  Holding up the rear is Charlie Romelfanger who is also holding up his youngest child, Steve, and then Fr. Jack, Fr. Francis and Fr. Thomas.  During the KGO program the host remarked that even for an Irish family, having that many priests and religious was unusual.  At that time, the Rielly family witnessed vocations to the single state, the married state, the religious state and the  vocation to the priesthood.  Praise be to God !
  • Other pictures in this book of memories was a photo of St. James School (built after the 1906 earthquake and nicknamed "the Old  Brickpile).  On the same page is a medley of the 1936 graduating class with Bro. Peter Maier and Bro. John Borgerding.
  • On another page is a picture of the boys' choir with Bro. Anthony Beyer, S.M. in the upper right hand corner.  (I'm in it at the left far end of the second row).
    • At the very end of the book, Archbishop Riordan High facade is shown with an inset of Archbishop Riordan.  (Unfortunately, there are some errors in the book.  The commentary on this picture states that Riordan High School "is run by the Marist order...”
